Sorina Zainea grew up in Bucharest, Romania. Her academic journey brought her to Germany and Portugal, where she earned her master’s degree in history and political sciences. She started her professional career in journalism, continuing with roles in communications, education for development projects and democracy research. Her appreciation for poetry that gives a closer look to ordinary life and everyday interactions, while considering themes such as adversity and perseverance, identity, and the sense of belonging, has enabled her to recognize and articulate her own poetic inspirations throughout this poetry book, Misspelled Constellations.
